We believe that certain aspects of Emerge make it a special place.  We are proud of these commitments that we have made, which include:

If Emerge agrees to provide services to an individual, we will not discharge them.  As needs change, services change.  Many people will progress and choose to move on from Emerge, but it is always THEIR decision, not ours.

Emerge provides 120 hours of intensive training to all new employees and 40 hours of on-going continuing education each year.  Emerge offers a certified nursing assistant training program in conjunction with the Maryland Board of Nursing

Emerge is highly successful at serving individuals who have not been successful elsewhere.  Some individuals have been discharged from as many as 20 other places before coming to Emerge.  Many people have multiple diagnoses and co-occurring mental illness

Emerge has a wide array of services, and changes them to the needs of individuals.  John and Cindy have been married for 20 years and have been supported in their own home.

The average tenure of counselors at Emerge is 11 years.  Managers are Emerge have been promoted from within, and every staff person at Emerge directly supports individuals with disabilities.
